M27, taken on July 11, 2005 at about 3:00AM UT through a C8 equipped with a 0.63FR. ST7, Astrodon LRGB Filters. 5 X 300 sec LRGB, RGB binned 2X2, L binned 1X1, unguided. Calibrated, combined and processed with Maxim DL. Further processing was done with Adobe Photoshop

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

M57, taken on July 10, 2005 at about 3:00AM UT through a C14 equipped with a 0.63 FR. ST7, Astrodon LRGB Filters. 5X5 min L 1X1, 5X5 min RGB 2X2, calibrated, combined and processed using Maxim DL. Additional processing using Photoshop.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

M51, taken on July 2-3, 2005 from Custer Observatory Southold, New York. SBIG ST7 - 4X10min Luminance unbinned and 3X10min RGB binned 2X2. C14 with Celestron 0.66 FR, Astrodon LRGB filters.

CALIBRATED, ALIGNED AND COMBINED, COLOR COMBINED IN MAXIM DL

DDP AND FULL SCREEN STRETCH WERE APPLIED TO THE TRICOLOR AND THE LUMINANCE IN MAXIMDL

LUMINANCE AND TRICOLOR WERE SAVED AS TIF IN MAXIM, AND OPENED IN PHOTOSHOP, AND COMBINED IN PHOTOSHOP

COLOR CORRECTED, AND THEN COLOR ADJUSTED TO GET A SLIGHT RED TINT.

LUM LAYER WAS SHARPENED USING UNSHARP MASK, AND TRICOLOR LAYER WAS BLURRED USING GAUSSIAN BLUR

IMAGE WAS FLATTENED AND SAVED AS BOTH 16 BIT TIFF AND 8 BIT JPEG

M27, taken through the Rent-A-Scope System  "When else would I get to use a FLI Dream Machine, A Tak Mewlon mounted onto a Paramount. On one snowy day in New York in December 2004.  This remotely captured image was pretty much my first attempt at tricolor filter imaging. I like this image of M27.

This site was created with Microsoft Frontpage. It is best viewed with Internet Explorer at  at least

1280 X 1024 Resolution. Using other browsers and/or settings seems to affect the way the text lines up with the images.
